We would like to advise customers that the planned third-party works to demolish and replace Bridge 128 have been rescheduled.
Following revisions to the delivery programme, the contractor working on behalf of High Speed 2 Limited will no longer be undertaking these works on the dates previously notified.
As a result, the proposed start date for the works is now 4 January, meaning that there will be no impact from HS2 works during November and December.
The programme for these works is currently under review and further updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while these arrangements are finalised, and we will continue to work closely with HS2 and their delivery teams to minimise any impact on navigation as these works progress.

Contractors working on behalf of High Speed 2 Limited plan to demolish an existing accommodation bridge ( Bridge 128 ) and construct a replacement new bridge over the canal. We are currently exploring whether opportunities may exist to provide temporary navigation openings during the works; however, this remains under review and cannot be guaranteed at this stage. Further updates will be provided as arrangements are confirmed.
