Navigation remains closed between Lock 1 and Lock 18 on the Ashton Canal due to a head gate failure at Lock 18.
Works to repair the head gate have been delayed while we await delivery of the replacement brace and while we seek additional heritage approval from the city council in order to carry out essential repairs.
A further update will be provided on or before Tuesday, 25 August.

Our team has completed the paddle repairs at Lock 14 and Lock 15 on the Ashton Canal. However, navigation still remains closed between Lock 1 to Lock 18 due to a head gate failure at Lock 18.

A further update will be provided on or before Wednesday 19 August.
