Lock 45

Completed: The paddle repair at Lock 45 on the Rochdale Canal has now been completed. However, navigation remains closed between Locks 37 and 48 due to low water levels caused by the continued dry weather. Our team is continuing to work to restore water levels in the affected area and is feeding additional water into the canal to help with recovery. Navigation remains closed at Lock 45 on the Rochdale Canal due to a damaged paddle, which is preventing the lock from filling.

We are currently awaiting the availability of the necessary resources before the repair works can begin. Once these are in place, our team will arrange to carry out the repairs as soon as possible.

An update will be provided on or before Monday 10 August.

Navigation remains closed at Lock 45 on the Rochdale Canal due to a damaged paddle, which is preventing the lock from filling.

Our team have been delayed in carrying out repairs to the paddle due to other priority works.

A further update will be provided on or before Wednesday, 5 August.

Navigation is closed at Lock 45 on the Rochdale Canal due to a damaged paddle, which is preventing the lock from filling.

Our team has attended site to inspect the damaged paddle and is currently planning a method of repair.
