Navigation Restriction - Grand Union Canal, Norwood Top Lock 90 to Hanwell Flight 97, Hanwell

We will be trialling the lifting of the overnight closure of Norwood Top Lock 90 and the Hanwell Flight, Lock 97 from Thursday the 5th of November.

Due to the ongoing drought and depleted water reserves we request all boating be kept to a minimum.

We will continue to monitor levels and advise a further navigation closure may be required to maintain levels.

Please be aware the overnight closure is still in place and there is no change to the position at present.   We continue to monitor the situation and will provide a further update on Friday 13th November.

Due to low water in the region we will be closing the Hanwell Flight over night for the foreseeable future. Norwood Top Lock 90 will be unlocked at 0900 and locked again at 1530. Boaters are advised to moor above or below the Flight overnight. Boaters should aim to enter the flight at least 2 hours before closing so that they can complete the transit. If the flight is locked whilst boaters are still making passage they should moor in the pound between Norwood Bottom Lock 91 and Hanwell Flight Lock 92, as this pound is the most stable.
