Descriptions

Update 25 July 2026, 2:55pm

Updated notice to advice notice from closure notice.

The tree has been cut back by a boater but unfortunately not far back enough. We can no longer get a winch around the tree to remove it from the navigation in its entirety.

It is advisable that Wide beams do not travel past this section until a contractor has been to remove the tree is its entirety on Monday. Narrowboat passage is possible now and the towpath is open.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Original 25 July 2026, 12:18pm

We have had reports of a fallen tree on the Calder & Hebble which has fallen from the offside bank side across the navigation and onto the towpath.

We have a team on the way there now to assess the situation and we will look at removing this tree as soon as possible.
