The South Stratford Canal will be closed to navigation between Lock 22, Lapworth and Lock 55, Stratford upon Avon from Monday 3 August 2026 until further notice.
This temporary closure will help conserve water and allow the affected section to recover, supporting the sustainability of navigation on the South Stratford Canal and the wider connected canal network.
To help conserve water supplies before the closure comes into effect, we ask boaters to undertake only essential journeys within the affected section where possible.
We appreciate that this closure may affect planned journeys and apologise for the inconvenience caused. Our teams will continue to monitor conditions closely and we will provide further updates as they become available.
