Please note this navigation restriction will be in place at this lock between 7.30am and 4pm.
During these works, there may be waiting times of up to one hour in each direction to navigate the lock safely as our team carries out the essential welding.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation while we undertake these important works to strengthen the lock gate plates and help ensure the continued safe operation of this lock.

The Reactive Team will carry out welding repairs to the split mitre posts on both the top and bottom gates to temporarily stabilise the gates until permanent replacement works are undertaken.
The works will involve welding steel strengthening plates to the mitre post areas.
During the welding activities, it is likely that navigation will need to be temporarily stopped to ensure the safety of passing boats and the workforce.
Navigation will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so following completion of the welding operations.
