Description

Original 16 July 2026, 10:40am

A navigation closure is required for Leak arrest works on Lock 69 and Bridge 163. The canal will be dewatered for the duration of the works, between Lock 69, Brynich Lock to immediately downstream of Bridge 163 where a dam will be cited. The pounds either side of the Lock 69 and Bridge 163 will not have their water levels adjusted.

There will be a sandbag bund on the Bypass Wier to increase the freeboard height to the weight preventing water from increasing into the work area as a result more water than usual may be witnessed exiting via the nearest weir in the pound above Lock 69 being Llanbrynean Syphon Weir, this is not of concern.
