The customer service facilities at Marple on the Macclesfield Canal remain closed due to blocked drains.
Further investigations have confirmed that the land where the affected drains are located is owned by a third-party landowner.
Our Estates Team is working with the landowner to agree the required repairs and establish a timeline for the works to be carried out by them. Once this has been confirmed, we will be able to provide further details of the repair plan and expected timescales.
The next update will be provided on or before Tuesday 25 August.

The Customer Service Facilities at Marple on the Macclesfield Canal remain closed due to blocked drains.
Due to extensive repair work required to the collapsed drain and working with third party land owners this may take time to resolve. Once responsibility and access arrangements have been established, we will be able to share a repair plan and anticipated timescales for the works.
The next update will be provided on or before Tuesday 28 July.

The Customer Service Facilities at Marple on the Macclesfield Canal remain closed due to blocked drains.
Our contractors have attended the site and, following further investigation, they have identified that repairs are needed to the drainage pipework. Therefore, unfortunately, they were unable to unblock the drains during their visit.
The contractors are now planning to attend the site again to carry out further investigations and determine the most appropriate method of repair.
A further update will be provided on Tuesday, 21 July.

The Customer Service Facilities at Marple on the Macclesfield Canal remain closed due to blocked drains.
Contractors have been delayed due to other priority work and are now hoping to attend the site on Monday to clear the blockage and carry out a deep clean of the facilities.
A further update will be provided on Monday, 13 July.

Contractors are due to attend site on Friday to clear the blockage and carry out a deep clean of the facilities.
