Please be advised that we will be carrying out a dive survey of the Purton Upstream Safety Gates in preparation for their replacement next year.
To ensure the safety of the dive team, navigation will be restricted between 8:00am and 5:00pm. During this time, the canal will be temporarily closed for periods of up to two hours while diving operations are underway.
A 30-minute passage window will then be provided before the next closure period begins.
The planned passage windows are:
- 10:00am to 10:30am
- 12:30pm to 1:00pm
- 3:00pm to 3:30pm
Following the final closure period, all navigation restrictions will be removed at 5:00pm.
Boating customers are requested to follow all instructions from on-site staff, allow extra time for their journey and be prepared for delays.
These navigation restrictions are essential to protect personnel carrying out underwater works.
