Between Bridge 60, Town Bridge and Bridge 58, A339 flyover, Newbury

Contractor Volker Highways, working on behalf of West Berkshire Council, will be installing new sheet piling to strengthen the existing canal wall on the north side of the canal. Due to the narrow section between Bridge 60 and 32 Wharf Street, a full navigation closure will be in place for the duration of the works, and no vessels will be able to pass through this stretch. The works will be carried out from pontoons. The towpath will be closed for the duration of the works.
