Regional Reactive Team were on site this morning and reset the gate into the pot. The lock is now operational.

We'd like to keep you updated following the recent boat strike. Our engineers attended the lock this morning to carry out an initial assessment and inspect the extent of the damage caused.
They will be returning tomorrow morning to carry out repair work, and we are hopeful that this will restore the lock to full operation and allow it to reopen.
We genuinely appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to make the lock gate fully operable again as quickly and safely as possible.
We will continue to keep you updated and will share further information as soon as it becomes available.

Please note that RE-004-021 Lock 2, Hawley Lock, is closed due to a boat strike. Engineers will attend in the morning to assess the damage and determine what will be required for the repair.
This notice will be updated as soon as more information regarding damage and the fix is known.
