Furthermore to the towpath closure at Townfield Embankment, the moorings will also be suspended and clearly signposted to support the safe completion of the works.

The towpath is closed at Townfield Embankment on the Macclesfield Canal from 8am on Monday 6 July until 4pm on Friday 24 July to allow essential ground investigation works to be carried out.
To enable safe access to the site, pontoons will be installed across the canal. As a result, navigation will be restricted during this time.
We would request all customers to approach the area with caution and listen to any advice that may be given on site. Boaters should be prepared to stop to allow equipment to be moved to ensure safe passage.
