Our operatives have monitored the water levels at Lock 13 over the weekend and have confirmed that they are now fully recovered. The section from locks 9 to 16 has been reopened for passage.

Unfortunately, water levels at Lock 13 have not yet recovered as it was found this morning that the paddle on the offside had been wound up. The paddles were chained off and left to recover over the morning. However, upon returning, the operative found that the tailgate is now jammed, due to an underwater obstruction.
Operatives will be on site on Tuesday, 28th July, to carry out an inspection and will attempt to remove the object then. The lock will remain closed until the obstruction has been removed.
This notice will be updated as soon as more information is available.

Operatives have been on site at the lock today and have assessed head paddle on the towpath side. They have taken measurements and will be back on site tomorrow, to carry out a repair.
This notice will be updated, once we have further information regarding the success of the repair.

Unfortunately, we have not had the materials or resources to repair the head paddle on the towpath. So it is operational on just the offside head paddle and will take longer to fill. We will update the notice on Monday 27th July with a further update.

On Lock 13, the head paddle on the towpath side is broken and is not operational. Please use the head paddle on the offside to operate the lock. This may take a little longer to fill with it operating on the one paddle. We are looking to have it repaired in 4 weeks. We will update the notice should we receive any further information earlier.
