Further to the notice below, we are pleased to advise that Bradford on Avon Lock is now operational, and the navigation is open.

We will continue to monitor the water levels.

Please be advised that investigations have continued and the leak appears to be linked with high water levels in the pound.

We have reduced the water level in the pound and amended the pumping protocol and the leak appears to have stopped. 

We will continue to monitor the position over the next couple of week and mobilise to undertake local clay repairs to suspected top level leakage pathways.

Please be advised that following reports of water leakage emanating from the Kennet & Avon Canal at Bradford on Avon, which had previously been identified in our inspection process, Canal & River Trust Operational Staff have attended the site today.

Further investigation is planned for tomorrow morning to understand the nature of the leak and any work which may be required.
