Lock 23, Hoo Mill Lock

A navigation restriction will be in place at Hoo Mill Lock. Following a temporary repair last year to the byw​ash culvert, a full programme of works is now scheduled from 1 July to 14 August. These works will include repairs to the culvert, the downstream headwall and the road surface.

To allow this work to take place, water levels will need to be managed to prevent flow over the weir. This will be achieved by running water through the lock to help reduce upstream canal levels. This will require the lock to be closed from 6pm each day until 9am the following morning. Navigation will be available between 9am and 6pm each day.
