Further to the notice below, we are pleased to advise that Garston Lock will remain open over the summer period.
There remains a risk of further deterioration to the lock cill however we can confirm that it has remained stable, with no observed deterioration over the past three weeks of continued operation.
Contingency arrangements are in place and in the event of any failure resources will be mobilised immediately to respond and carry out necessary works.
A site meeting is scheduled for Friday 12th June to assess the condition and to prepare for a planned stoppage which is currently anticipated to take place in late October.
Further details will be communicated in advance of these works.
