Naburn Lock closed for diving operation to repair the gate chain - Wednesday 17th June 8am - 5pm

Please be advised that Naburn Lock will be closed to all navigation between 08:00 and 17:00 on Wednesday, 17 June 2026. This temporary closure is necessary to allow essential repair works to be carried out on the underwater chains. During this time, passage through the lock will not be possible, and customers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly. The lock will reopen as soon as the works are completed, and it is safe to do so. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience while these important repairs are undertaken.
