A new pedestrian footbridge connecting Camley Street and Granary Street is to be constructed over the canal under a winter works stoppage (currently in consultation).
To prepare for the bridge being lifted into place the Contractor Ardmore require a towpath closure for 12 weeks so that they can install wall supporting props to ensure the brick wall along the back edge of the towpath remains stable during bridge abutment piling works.
The pontoon towpath diversion is approximately 35 metres long near the access point west of Camley Street.
There will be a towpath closure in place for 35 metres in length with a pedestrian/cycle pontoon diversion alongside the towpath. Moorings in the location of the pontoon will be suspended.
A Mooring suspension will be in place from 1/7/26 to 25/9/26 (24 hours 7 days a week).
