Update 8 June 2026, 3:29pm
Water levels have shown some improvement; however, they remain below the required level for navigation.
We are aiming to reopen on Wednesday and will provide a further update at that time.
Update 5 June 2026, 3:32pm
Please be advised that the Rushall Lock Flight remains closed as levels are still not sufficient to safely reopen the flight at this time.
Our teams will continue to closely monitor the situation and manage levels as far as possible. We will provide a further update on Monday.
Original 1 June 2026, 4:23pm
Please be advised that a full closure of the Rushall Lock Flight is in place with immediate effect.
Water levels across the Rushall Canal are currently critically low. Ongoing misuse and suspected vandalism are contributing to significant overnight water losses, resulting in levels falling to an unsustainable position. Bradley pumps have been operating at full capacity for over two weeks, with limited improvement.
Our teams will continue to closely monitor the situation and will reopen the flight as soon as it is safe and operationally viable to do so.
