Sharpness Bridge 1 (Low Bridge) and Bridge 2 (High Level Bridge).

Mariners are advised that due to the forthcoming forecast period of warm weather conditions it is anticipated that issues may be experienced with the operation of both Bridge 1 (Low Level Bridge) and Bridge 2 (High Level Bridge) at Sharpness Dock, meaning that they will be unable to open for craft transiting to/from the canal.   Whilst every effort will be made to attempt operation of the bridges when required, there may be a requirement to postpone passages through the bridges at short notice, though as much notice as possible will be given where issues are known in advance. 

Mariners should be prepared for potential delays and changes to schedule and should check planned transits with Sharpness Pierhead on 01453 511968.   A further update to this notice will be made once conditions change and/or planned bridge engineering works take place.
