Norish British Steel Bridge to Woodside Bridge, Brierley Hill, Dudley

Due to unforeseen issues encountered on site, these works have been extended by two days and are now scheduled to finish on 24 July, 5pm.

Please be advised that third-party contractors will be installing a temporary walkway pontoon in the canal between Norish British Steel Bridge and Woodside Bridge to facilitate works associated with the West Midlands Metro extension.

The pontoon will be installed on 22/05/26 and will remain in place until 22/07/26. On 22/05/26, the towpath will remain open, with banksmen and signage in place to manage traffic.

Once installed, the section of towpath adjacent to the pontoon will be closed, and users will be diverted onto the walkway pontoon. Navigation will remain open but the canal width will be slightly restricted due to the pontoon.
