Please be aware of restrictions in Braunston between Saturday 20th June and Monday 6th July for the Braunston Historic Boat Rally Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June.

Please note the following mooring and cruising restrictions to accommodate the Rally:

Moorings: All the 48-hour and 14-day moorings on the Grand Union Canal in Braunston will be suspended. This includes all the moorings from Braunston Turn to the Marina Ladder Bridge.

The suspended moorings will be in force as follows:

Braunston Turn to Bridge 91 (A45 Bridge) - From 8am Saturday 20th June until 6pm Monday 29th June for the use of historic and non-historic boats booked into the Rally (staff and stall holders). Any spaces prior to the event can be used temporarily with permission.

Between Bridge 91 (A45 Bridge) and the Stop House - From 8am Saturday 20th June until 6pm Monday 29th June – historic and non-historic boats booked into the Rally (staff and stall holders – excludes permanent moorings).

Marina Bridge to the Ladder Bridge (Braunston Marina) – From 8am Saturday 20th June 6pm Monday 6th July - historic boats only (unless spaces become available after the show).

Cruising Narrow Boats: Please note cruising may be delayed once all the Historic Boats are in position and especially during the parades - which will take place at 10am and 1:30pm on Saturday and 11:30am on Sunday. Priority will be given to boats in the parade, please watch for direction from parade stewards.

Boats travelling from Braunston Locks on the Grand Union will be able to cruise as normal past the moored boats. Boats travelling from Braunston Turn on the Grand Union towards Braunston Locks may have to be directed through the Marina (a pilot will be provided).

Wide Beam Boats: Please note that cruising will be delayed once all the Historic Boats are in position between the Stop House and the Ladder Bridge. Boats heading towards Braunston Turn should moor above Braunston Bottom Lock. Likewise, boats heading towards the locks and the tunnel should moor before Braunston Turn and call 0303 040 4040 and ask to be put through to the East Midlands Customer Service Team or you can email us at [email protected]

You will be unable to move during the parades - which will take place at 10am and 1:30pm on Saturday and 11:30am on Sunday.   Facilities: Elsan and Water Points (between Br 91 and Braunston Stop House). These will be closed to moored boats once Historic boats are in position (open on foot). Please note alternative facilities are available at Braunston Turn.

Towpath: Due to heavy pedestrian traffic between Braunston Turn and the Marina Ladder Bridge, cyclists are asked to dismount whilst on the towpath and surrounding public areas during the period from 9am until 6pm between Saturday 21st June and Monday 6th July.
