Towpath and Moorings between Four Ashes Bridge No. 78A and Watling Steet Bridge 79, Penkridge, Stafford

Due to delays to Phase 1, the towpath resurfacing works between Four Ashes Bridge No. 78A and Watling Street Bridge 79, Penkridge, Stafford are now scheduled to commence on 15/06/26 and are expected to be completed by 31/07/26.

Third-party contractors undertaking works in connection with the West Midlands Interchange Project will be carrying out towpath resurfacing between Four Ashes Bridge No. 78A and Watling Steet Bridge 79. To facilitate these works, the towpath will be temporarily closed to the public for the duration of the project. A signed diversion route will be in place, and appropriate signage will be displayed on site. Moorings will also be suspended along this stretch.

All users are requested to follow the signed diversion route and comply with any instructions issued by the contractors on site. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation during these essential works.
