Navigation remains closed at Little Clegg Swing Bridge on the Rochdale Canal due to a fault with the lock mechanism and the hydraulic hose that operates the swing bridge.
Our contractors have now received the parts and are attending next week to carry out the repairs.
In the meantime, assisted passages will be available to support customers navigating through Little Clegg Swing Bridge.
Assisted passages are available at the following times:
Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 2:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: 12:30pm
If you wish to pass through the affected area, please contact our North West Customer Support Team on 0303 040 4040, providing at least 48 hours' notice during the following opening hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
A further update will be provided on or before Wednesday, 3 June.

Our contractors have identified a suitable repair method and are currently awaiting the arrival of replacement parts before returning to site to complete the necessary works.
In the meantime, assisted passages will be available to support customers navigating through Little Clegg Swing Bridge.

- Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 2:00pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 12:30pm

Our contractors have been informed and await their attendance to site to assess the issues and plan a method of repair.
In the meantime, our team will provide assisted passages through Little Clegg Swing Bridge.
If you wish to navigate through the affected area, please contact our North West Customer Support Team on 0303 040 4040 with at least 48 hours' notice during our opening hours Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm and Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, so we can arrange your assisted passage.
Please note that assisted passages are available Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 2:00pm, and at 12:30 Saturday and Sunday.
