Further to the previous notice, works to Garston Lock are currently on hold.
Engineers are in the process of developing an appropriate repair strategy, with works anticipated to commence in mid-June.
In the interim, the lock will remain open for use by customers.
In the meantime, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Further to the notice below, we are pleased to confirm that repair works at Burghfield Lock have now been completed and the lock is now open. Garston Lock is also open however, please note that it currently takes approximately 15 minutes to fill.
Further repair works are scheduled to begin at Garston Lock during the week commencing 8th June.
We will provide additional details and timings later this week as they become available.

Please be aware that this area is extremely busy and congested because of ongoing repair work at Burghfield Lock. There are no mooring spaces available, so we advise customers to avoid the area.

We would like to advise our customers, work is scheduled to begin at Garston and Burghfield Locks on 11 May 2026
Our contractors estimate that the repairs will take approximately four weeks to complete.
