Update 7 May 2026, 12:30pm
Our team remains on site carrying out the canal wall repair works. In order to safely complete these works, it is necessary to maintain a reduced water level in the pound, and as such, navigation remains closed.
We are currently aiming to complete the repairs and reopen the navigation within the next two weeks. We will provide a further update on or before 22 May to confirm progress.

Original 28 April 2026, 2:58pm
We have had to close navigation on the Rushall Lock Flight due to complications arising from planned works currently being undertaken by our team in the mile pound between Lock 2 and Lock 3.
As part of these works, four courses of brickwork have been removed from the canal wall. To protect the integrity of the embankment and prevent water levels rising above the remaining brickwork, the water level in the mile pound has been lowered. As a result, boats are unable to proceed through the Rushall Lock Flight until further notice.
Our team will attend site tomorrow to assess the situation further. We will provide a further update by Thursday.
