Update 13 May 2026, 3:04pm

The elsan and pump-out facility at Sparks Lane Customer Services on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal is currently out of service due to a fault with the suction.

Unfortunately the contractors are experiencing delays with receiving the new parts needed. Once contractors have received the new parts they will arrange to attend site to complete the repair.

A further update will be provided on or before Friday, 22 May.

The elsan and pump-out facility at Sparks Lane Customer Services on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal is currently out of service due to a fault with the suction.

After further inspection, contractors have found that the pump has also failed and will need to be replaced.

We are currently awaiting parts for the pump repair.

A further update will be provided on or before Wednesday, 13 May.

The elsan and pumpout facilities at Sparks Lane Services, on the Rufford Branch remain out of use due to blocked drains and an electrical fault.

Due to a high volume of works our contractors have been delayed attending site.

A further update will be provided on or before Friday, 8 May.
