Update 26 June 2026, 2:29pm

The Liverpool Link remains closed to navigation following the identification of a suspected blue-green algae bloom in Princes Dock.

Additional water samples have been taken, and we are currently awaiting the results of laboratory testing.

As a precaution, steps are being taken to prevent any potential spread of algae into the South Docks while the situation is assessed. The Trust is working closely with the dock owner, Peel, to manage the incident and prevent further spread. At this time, the situation remains unchanged.

A further update will be provided on 10 July.
