Descriptions

Update 24 April 2026, 8:48am

The contractors working on behalf of Network Rail have amended the dates for this work to be undertaken.  The new dates are from Wednesday, 27th May at 8am until Friday, 29th May at 5pm.

Original 20 April 2026, 11:11am

Contractors working on behalf of Network Rail will be working to remove vegetation and undertake some minor brickwork repairs to Railway Bridge 15B on the Ashby Canal between Monday, 27th April at 8am and Wednesday, 29th April at 5pm.   They will be using roped access from above and a pontoon with a mounted tower scaffold from the canal.  The roped access will be undertaken over two nights.    Passing boats may experience short delays of up to 20 minutes to allow the contractors time to clear the navigation channel. Towpath visitors should follow the advice provided by staff on site.     Please be aware of increased activity in the area.
