Deepfields Junction Bridge to Gas Pipe Bridge, Blue Button Weir

Due to a significant factory fire in the vicinity of Deepfields Road Bridge, the navigation has been closed. Run off water from the fire ground is entering the canal via surface water discharge outlets,resulting in pollution within the affected area. A substantial amount of coal dust has also settled across the waterway. Our local operations team is on site and working quickly to contain and manage the incident to prevent further environmental impact.
