The navigation and towpath remain closed here. Our teams have scheduled works for next week to investigate and resolve the issue. Once these works have been completed and the situation has been fully assessed, we will provide a further update regarding the lifting of the closure.

Please be advised that navigation is also closed at Spouthouse Embankment, including Perry Barr Lock Flight while our engineers investigate a leak.

We will provide further updates as soon as we receive them.

Following completion of major canal bed and waterway wall works since November 2025, the towpath is to remain closed until the 30th March to complete the removal of construction materials and make it safe to reopen.
