Please be advised that Bedford Staircase Lock will be closed to navigation while our team undertakes essential works.

Wednesday 18 March: Navigation will be closed from 9:00am until approximately 4:00pm. The lock will be dewatered to allow the team to repair a severely leaking gate.
Thursday 19 March: Navigation will again be closed while further repairs are undertaken. The lock will be dewatered to address a crack in the chamber wall. Navigation is expected to reopen by approximately 4:00pm.

We will update this notice if we are able to reopen navigation earlier on either day.
