Unfortunately, the condition of Audlem Lock 5 has deteriorated, and an emergency closure is now required to complete the necessary repairs. Work is needed on the bottom gates, as the lock is currently unable to hold water. To ensure these repairs can be completed safely and effectively, a full navigation closure will be in place for the duration of the works. This stoppage is essential to maintain the ongoing reliability and safe operation of the lock. We're sorry for the short notice but we're keen to get it done before 13 March, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation while this vital work is carried out.
