Northern Powergrid is replacing some cabling in the area of Sprotbrough Lock, with works expected to take two weeks. This means that there will be no electricity supply to the lock during this time so generators have been installed, enabling the lock to be operated with minimal disruption to boaters.
The generators will be maintained by Northern Powergrid. Boaters may be asked to wait 15 - 20 minutes on occasion, should the generators require refuelling.
