The navigation and towpath remains closed between Bridge 26, and Bridge 27 on the Lancaster Canal due to a fallen tree.
We are currently awaiting confirmation of attendance from our contractors.
We will provide an update on or before Friday 27 March.
Update 19 March 2026, 4:16pm
The towpath and navigation remain closed between Bridge 26, Salwick Bridge and Bridge 27, Six Mile Bridge due to a large fallen tree.
Our contractors have been in contact with the third party land owners to remove the obstruction preventing access to the location for the removal of the tree.
We are now awaiting dates for this removal of the obstruction.
A further update will be provided on or before, Wednesday 25 March.

The towpath and navigation remain closed between Bridge 26, Salwick Bridge and Bridge 27, Six Mile Bridge due to a large fallen tree.
Our contractors have been to site to complete an assessment, and they need to secure approved access via the third-party land owners to remove the obstruction.
A further update will be provided on or before, Friday 20 March.

Unfortunately, contractors have been delayed attending the site.
