Lock 6 Spring Garden Lock, Leeds

Cancelled: We wanted to let you know about a change to our planned works at Spring Garden Lock 6. During final planning, we identified an opportunity to coordinate these works with another project scheduled at the same location in our 2026/27 programme. Both activities require the same temporary damming and water‑management measures, which carry significant setup costs. By combining the projects, we can carry out these essential damming works once rather than twice, reducing disruption for boaters and towpath users while also ensuring better value for money. For these reasons, we have decided to defer the Spring Garden Lock 6 works until they can be delivered alongside the lock landing stage repairs planned for next year. We will share confirmed timings as soon as the programme is finalised.
