Following recent works to replace an unsafe electricity pole by National Grid, there are several sections of ruts and muddy areas on the towpath. Following a visit to site with National Grid, it was decided that to try to reinstate the towpath in the current weather would make the situation worse and it will be reassessed in a few weeks when conditions have dried sufficiently.
Towpath users - please take care when using the towpath upstream (west) from Coopers Bridge.
