Contractors have attended the site and carried out a partial removal of the tree obstructing the towpath at Bridge 84, Ellel Grange Bridge on the Lancaster Canal. This has allowed for the towpath to be reopened.
We are currently awaiting their return to complete the full removal of the obstruction across navigation.
A further update will be provided on or by Tuesday, 3 February.

Navigation and towpath remain closed at Bridge 84, Ellel Grange Bridge on the Lancaster Canal due to a windblown tree.
Our specialist contractors are working to clear the site and an update will be provided tomorrow, Friday 30 January.
