Descriptions

Update 28 January 2026, 12:11pm

Naburn Lock is still closed due to the rising water levels. Once water levels do reduce, an electricial check will need to be carried out to ensure the electrics are safe for the lock to operate. Unfortunately, it may be next week that water levels improve and safety checks are able to be carried out. We will update the notice when we receive further information.

Update 26 January 2026, 3:19pm

The water levels have been reviewed and they are still too high to operate the lock. Naburn Lock will remain closed and we will update the notice on Thursday 29th January.

Original 23 January 2026, 8:40am

Naburn Lock on the River Ouse is currently closed due to high river levels after the recent rainfall.

We will review water levels and update this notice on Monday 26th January 2026 by 10:00
