Original 22 January 2026, 9:36am

Please be advised that Aston Locks 9, 10, and 11 have been subject to suspected vandalism.

Since Monday 19 January, the pounds at these locks have been drained after paddles were found left in the raised position. This has resulted in significant water loss and presents a risk to navigation and the safe operation of the lock flight. The situation is being closely monitored.

All boaters are requested to:

  • Ensure paddles and gates are fully lowered and secured after use
  • Remain vigilant when navigating the area

If any suspicious behaviour is observed, please report it to the police or call us on 0303 040 4040.

Your cooperation is appreciated in helping to protect the waterway.
