Description

Original 22 January 2026, 8:47am

Installation of tempory surface water discharge pipe and associated equipment, which will cross the towpath and enter the Grand Union Canal.

The installation will take 1 week and the water discharge will be in place for the foreseeable. These works are in relation to a near by HS2 project.

The towpath equipment and apparatus will be barriered off and a small ramped bridge crossing will be installed over the discharge pipe to allow safe passage along the towpath.

There will be a banksman present whilst the equipment is being installed and a small towpath delay will be in place to safely lift the towpath bridge into its position. Lifting operations will be facilitated from a farmers field adjacent to the canal towpath. Navigation will always remain unrestricted.

2 mooring births will need to be suspended for the discharge installation (2.2.26 to 6.2.26) and continue to be in place over the course of the discharge period.
