Further to the notice below, subsequent inspections of Lock 103 Burghfield Lock have identified that the gate is severely damaged below the waterline.
As a result, the repair is not straightforward and is likely to require dewatering of the lock.
Our Engineering and Construction teams are currently assessing feasible repair options.
We will update this notice as soon as further information becomes available, including indicative timescales for the works.

Bottom Gate Burghfield
Please be advised that due to impact damage to bottom gates, this lock is now closed.
Engineers will assess and work out a repair strategy on Monday the 19th. This notice will be updated once we have further information regarding the repair and associated timelines.
