The trees at Bridge 16 have been cleared. However, multiple trees remain down and blocking navigation along the stretch between Wheaton Aston and Autherley Junction. Please refer to the notice below for further updates.

Seven fallen trees have been identified at Bridge 16. Contractors are currently on site undertaking clearance works. Please note that progress has been impacted by the theft of tools and a trailer while the team were on site.
A further update will be provided once confirmation has been received that the trees have been cleared.

Contractors are expected on site later today. We anticipate the tree will be cleared and navigation reopened by the end of the day.

Cluster of fallen trees near Bridge 16
A cluster of fallen trees is blocking the navigation close to Bridge 16 Broom Hall Bridge, on the Shropshire Union Canal.
Storm Goretti has impacted a number of our waterways, resulting in a high volume of incidents.
Our teams are prioritising safety and are working to clear obstructions and reopen affected routes as quickly as possible.
