Following a recent survey of the sluice, we have identified that the paddle has become detached and the existing chamber stop planks have deteriorated. To safely replace these components, a stoppage is required. While the canal is dewatered, we will also use a jet vac tanker to remove silt from in front of the sluice inlet. This will help ensure the sluice can operate effectively for flood management and continue to protect nearby critical assets. This stoppage will run from 9 February to 27 February. Please note that the towpath will be restricted during these works. Towpath users may be asked to wait briefly while the site is made safe for passage. Thank you for your understanding while we carry out these essential works.
