The Hertford Union will remain closed indefinitely at this time. We will have an inspection from our engineers by 19.12.2025.

We will be able to publish our estimated timeline for any remedial works and the estimated closure length in the New Year.

The damage will be assessed by our engineers to design any possible repair. Update to follow.

Please be advised that a navigation closure is in place between Locks 1 and 3 on the Hertford Union Canal due to a boat strike.
