Repairs to Lock 88 has been successfully completed, our local team are onsite replenishing the effected pound.
The lock will reopen from 8am tomorrow, Wednesday 10 December.

Our team is continuing work on repairing the head gate paddle, including replacing the full frame around the paddle.
A further update will be provided tomorrow, Tuesday, 9 December.

Navigation is closed at lock 88 on the Rochdale Canal due to the failure of the head gate paddle. Our local team have identified what we need to carry out to repair the paddle. A further update will be issued on Monday 7th December 2025.
