100m from the north portal of Chirk Tunnel

Navigation & Towpath Closure – Chirk Tunnel (North Portal) Please be advised that both the navigation and towpath are closed approximately 100 metres from the north portal of Chirk Tunnel due to a fallen tree obstructing the route. Our contractor has been contacted and will be on site tomorrow, Sunday, 7th December, at approximately 09:30 to clear the obstruction. We anticipate work will commence promptly upon arrival and will provide updates as soon as the route is safe for passage.
