Descriptions

Update 6 March 2026, 10:56am

The tree has been removed and it appears that any parts which may have been below the waterline, are no longer causing an obstruction.

Original 5 December 2025, 10:40am

Please can boaters be aware that a tree has fallen into the canal, from the offside, approximately 50 metres from Bridge 16, Crowther Bridge, on the Calder and Hebble.

The tree is partially blocking the navigation. Please proceed with care and reduce speeds in the area, as it is not known if the branches extend further under the water.

Our contractor has been appointed to attend as soon as possible.

This notice will be updated once the tree has been removed.
