Description

Original 3 December 2025, 4:32pm

Please can boaters be aware that a tree has fallen from the offside of the canal, approximately 60 metres upstream of Higherland Bridge and and around 80m from Higherland Lock.

The canal is at least partially blocked by the tree and whilst it may be possible to pass on the nearside for narrowboats, it may not be possible for wide beams to pass. Please exercise caution when attempting to pass as it is not clear if the tree limbs stretch further, under the water.

Our contractor has been appointed to attend and remove the tree as soon as possible. This notice will be updated, once the tree has been safely removed and the restriction can be lifted.

The towpath is not affected.
